About the role

We’re looking for an IT Specialist to own the technology our team relies on every day. You’ll help people get unstuck, make sure new joiners have what they need from day one, and keep our devices, access, and tools organized.

This is a hands-on role with room to improve how things work. We’re looking for someone who follows through, notices what keeps breaking, and takes the initiative to fix it.

What you’ll own:

  • Day-to-day IT support. Be the person employees turn to for hardware, software, and access issues. Prioritize requests, keep people updated, and follow through to resolution.
  • Onboarding and offboarding. Coordinate device setup, accounts, and permissions so new joiners are ready to work and departing employees’ access and equipment are handled properly.
  • Devices and equipment. Manage purchasing, setup, inventory, repairs, and returns of laptops and accessories.
  • Our workplace tools. Administer Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and other company applications. Keep licenses and renewals organized, track usage and spend, and recommend where we can simplify or save.
  • Access management. Keep accounts, groups, and permissions current, follow company policies, and run quarterly access reviews with system owners.
  • AI tools. Administer Claude and other approved AI platforms, including user access, licenses, approved connectors, and usage limits. Monitor adoption and spend, and flag unusual activity.
  • Better ways of working. Spot recurring issues, address their causes, and maintain clear documentation that helps people help themselves. Coordinate with vendors when needed and bring recommendations when a decision needs wider input.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in IT support or administration, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Practical experience troubleshooting macOS and administering Google Workspace.
  • Examples of taking responsibility for an IT process or service and improving it: onboarding, device tracking, support, or documentation.
  • A helpful, patient approach. You can explain a technical issue clearly and support people with different levels of technical confidence.
  • Strong follow-through. You keep records current, manage competing requests, and close the loop.
  • Curiosity about AI tools and a willingness to learn how to manage them responsibly.
  • Experience with device management tools, such as Jamf, Kandji, or JumpCloud, is a plus.
